Dr Russel got started in ham radio when asked to assist on constructing an AMSAT ground station for the University of Coloado smallsat launch. He has been an ARES 3 county regional director. He has worked with the Deep Space Exporation Socited to refurbish a 60 foot dish and then used the dish to map hydrogen in the Milky Way and detect 13 pulsars.
He is currently the editor of Radio Astronomy Journal and teh SARA Youtube Channel.
